As per the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, License is issued by State/Central Drug Standard Control Organization. Drug license holders have to make sure it complies with the terms and conditions. The license issued overlooking these terms and conditions can get cancelled or suspended.


Checklist for obtaining a Drug License

  • Pharmacist / Competent Individual

    A pharmacist at a retail business must be qualified. For a wholesale business, an individual must have 1 year of experience or 4 years of undergraduate experience

  • Space Requirement

    The area of the pharmacy or unit must be 15 square meters regardless of whether it is a wholesale or retail license.

  • Technical Staff

    A Retail Pharmacy staff must have in-depth knowledge. While a Wholesale staff must have minimum 1year of experience or 4 years of undergraduate experience

  • Storage Facility

    Drugs require to be stored in low temperatures, refrigerators, and air conditioners. Therefore, a storage facility is required for sure.
